Gate times:

Folklore Festival gate times are 1200 – 2230 on both Saturday and Sunday.
Music finishes at 2200 on both days.
Last Entry is 2100 each day.

Entry:

Please read the festival terms and conditions on the reverse of your festival ticket / e-ticket in advance of visiting the festival, this will help you to pass through the gate system more efficiently.

Upon gate entry, please have your ticket and valid photo ID (essential) ready for inspection. A wristband will be given in exchange for a portion of your festival ticket. Please retain your other ticket portion, as re-entry is not possible without it.

Please ensure your wristband is not damaged or removed until the festival has closed on Sunday night.

Without valid ID, appropriate wristband and ticket portion, re-entry is not permitted.

Any person attempting to enter the festival under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be refused entry.

ID:

Valid photographic ID is required as proof of age.

Suitable forms of photographic ID include passport, drivers license and any photographic ID that carries the PASS logo. Photocopies are not acceptable.

Prohibited:

The festival site operates under a 1st Category licence (Licensing (Jersey) Law 1974), with bars serving alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks.

Alcoholic, non-alcoholic drinks & water are prohibited at the festival entry point as a control measure to eliminate persons from bringing alcohol onto site.

NO GLASS! A strict ‘No Glass’ policy is in force to which there are no exceptions. This includes perfume bottles & make up mirrors. This is for the safety of all festival attendees as glass carries the risk of breakage.

No umbrellas, tents, chairs (all deemed an obstruction), bottles, cans, canisters, containers, food, laser pens, unauthorised professional film or video equipment, audio recorders, air horns, spray cans, fireworks, flares, animals (other than registered guide or hearing dogs) and any items that may be construed as a weapon are permitted.

Illegal Substances:

Do not attempt to bring illegal substances on site as you stand a very real chance of being caught and subsequently arrested.

Alcohol:

People do not have to be 18yrs or over to attend the festival, however they must be 18yrs or over to purchase alcoholic drinks.

A CHALLENGE 25 Policy is in operation at all festival bars serving alcohol. If you look 25 or under, and you wish to buy alcohol, you will be asked to prove that you are 18 or over.

You will need an age verification wristband, which is issued upon production of valid photographic ID and your festival ticket at an onsite age verification booth. Without this wristband, you will not be served alcohol.

Persons deemed overly intoxicated will not be served alcohol at any bars.

Drinking Responsibly:

 Alcohol dehydrates!!

If drinking alcoholic drinks, please ensure to do so responsibly.
Pace yourself and top up throughout the day with plenty of water or soft drinks to stay hydrated. For more information, please visit www.drinkaware.co.uk.

Do not drink and drive, it endangers the lives of yourself and others and you risk losing your drivers license.

The organisers strongly recommend that people travelling to the festival, use public transport, taxis or designate a non-alcohol drinking driver to be responsible for your car journeys.

Conduct:

Please be advised that CCTV cameras are in operation within the festival site.

Unsociable behavior will not be tolerated and it will result in eviction from the site. Anyone attempting to throw projectiles will be arrested immediately and prosecuted.

Please respect other festival attendees, festival security and event staff.

Food:

Bringing food into the festival site is not permitted.

There are plenty of catering outlets offering a choice of tasteful delights & refreshments onsite.
All festival caterers’ are fully insured and registered with the States of Jersey Public Health Service.

Underage Persons:

All persons under 16yrs old must be accompanied by an adult, otherwise admittance to the festival will be refused.

The organisers do not accept liability for unaccompanied under 16’s.
It is illegal to purchase or consume alcohol on licensed premises under the age of 18yrs old.
It is illegal for anybody over 18 to purchase or obtain alcohol for anybody under 18yrs old on licenced premises.

Any persons caught passing alcoholic drinks to under 18′s will be evicted, as will under 18’s caught drinking or under the influence of alcohol.

Children:

Children 12yrs & under must be in possession of a valid child’s ticket (Infants 2yrs & under are free) and be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Children’s ticket proceeds will be donated to a local charity.

The lost persons point is located at the festival welfare tent near to the entry point.

Please be aware that amplified music could potentially cause damage to children’s hearing.

Disabled Customers:

The festival site allows easy access to all areas.

Guide dogs for the blind and/or deaf are the only animals permitted onto the festival site.

Disabled toilets are available on site.

Lost Property:

Lost Property can be found at the festival merchandise tent.

Please hand in any found items at the festival merchandise tent.

Any lost property remaining after the festival will be taken to the Police headquarters at Rouge Bouillon, St Helier by noon on Monday 2nd July.

Toilets:

Toilets are positioned in different areas around the festival site and are cleaned and emptied throughout each day.

Please ensure to respect people using the toilet after you by keeping it clean.

Litter:

Please keep Folklore Festival and Peoples Park tidy.

Be responsible not to create litter! There are plenty of bins provided on site.

Please respect the surrounding areas and use bins at all times to dispose of any litter.

Weather & Sound:

Please be aware that prolonged exposure to amplified sound may cause permanent hearing damage.

Beware of prolonged exposure to the sun. Ensure you use plenty of UV protective sun cream to avoid the risk of sunburn.

Bus Travel information:

Check with the local bus company ‘Connex’ for bus services that run to and from St Helier.

Directions:

Folklore Festival is located at Peoples Park, St Aubins Rd, St Helier, Jersey.

Festival security will direct you to the pedestrian entrance at the festival site. Public entry will be through the West Park end of Peoples Park.

Please refer to the map for further information on pedestrian and traffic flow.

The Neighbours:

The Organisers are extremely privileged to be able to use Peoples Park to host Folklore Festival and would like to continue to do so year after year.

Your help is needed to keep the local community happy. There are temporary road restrictions surrounding the festival site for the festival weekend.

Please ensure you enter or leave the site quietly at all times.

Do not litter.

Accommodation:

There is no camping available at the festival or surrounding areas.

Non Channel Island visitors should ensure they have full travel & medical insurance in place.
